A two day Techno Cultural Fest – Phoenix 2013 was organized by Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology on 1st and 2nd March, 2013. The Inaugural Function of Phoenix was on 1st March at 11 am. The Chief Guest of the Inaugural Function was Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar, Vice Chancellor, RGUKT, IIIT, Gachibowli. The Guest of Honour was Dr. Santanu Paul, CEO and MD, Talent Sprint.

Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar spoke about focusing on academics and learning the engineering concepts thoroughly. Dr. Santanu Paul garu stressed on being different from the crowd. He asked the students to learn additional skills and add to ones profile.

The two day fest was very colourful, musical, and exciting. Large number of students from different colleges registered for paper presentations, poster presentations and other technical events. Every department organized their own events and most of the events were successful. Literary events like paper presentations and vocabulary building exercises were also part of this fest. Song and Dance, Fashion Show were the ‘super hit’ events.

Many game stalls and food stalls were set up for the event. Students had great fun participating in these fun games.

The valedictory on 2nd afternoon had Dr. Swaminathan Mani, Associate Vice President, Mahindra Satyam as the Chief Guest. Dr. P. Rajeshwar Reddy, Correspondent, VJIT, Dr. P. Venu Gopal Reddy, Director, VJIT, Dr. Padmaja, Principal, VJIT were also there to congratulate the winners.

It un-winded off on a very happy and jubilant note because of the good response to the fest. Phoenix 2013 showed that with unity, camaraderie, sincerity and enthusiasm, we can do wonders. The legacy continues…….
