Objective Of The IQAC

The primary aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.

  • Designing and Implementing Annual Plans for quality enhancement.

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/ parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
  • Retrieval of information on various quality parameters of higher education and best practices followed by other institutions.
  • Organization of workshops and seminars on quality-related themes and promotion of quality circles and institution-wide dissemination of the proceedings of such activities.
  • Development and application of innovative practices in various programmes/activities leading to quality enhancement.
  • Participation in the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education.
  • Work for the development of internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement policies and practices.
  • Act as a nodal unit of the institution for augmenting quality-related activities.
  • Prepare focused Annual Quality Assurance Reports(AQARs).

  • To develop a quality system for conscious, consistent and catalytic programmed action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the College
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through  internationalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices


  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and
    administrative activities of the Colleges;
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching
    and learning process;

  • Acting as a nodal agency of the college for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of good practices
  • Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining / enhancing the institutional quality;
  • Development of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) of the College based on the quality parameters/assessment criteria developed by the relevant quality assurance body (like NAAC, NBA, AB) in the prescribed format;
  • Bi-annual development of Quality Radars (QRs) and Ranking of Integral Unites of Colleges based on the AQAR;
  • Interaction with SQACs in the pre and post accreditation quality assessment, sustenance and enhancement endeavours.

Follow up

  • The AQAR shall be approved by the statutory bodies of the Colleges for the follow up action for necessary quality enhancement measures.
  • The Colleges shall regularly submit  AQARs to the affiliating University, state level quality assurance bodies, NAAC / other accreditation bodies.
  • Colleges shall submit AQARs and / or Quality Radars (QRs) and follow up reports of AQARs to the UGC as and when called for.
  • The IQAC must create its exclusive window on its institutional website, to regularly report on its activities as well as for hosting the AQAR.

Contribution  to Teaching -Learning process

IQAC is formed with senior academicians. IQAC conducts review meetings every month with every department and assess the progress in academics,

  • IQAC conducts Periodically FDP‘s on teaching methodologies, communication skills and recent transformations in engineering education
  • It monitors the teaching abilities of faculty and take measures to improve teaching skills.
  • Collaborations with IUCEE in teaching and learning practices to improve quality of teaching.
  • Implementation of Teaching / Learning process using Multimedia lectures, CBT lectures, NPTEL video lectures, IUCEE webinars etc.
  • Faculty Orientation Programmes are organized in the beginning of every academic year in basic pedagogy

Students And Alumni Contribute To The Effective Functioning Of The IQAC

  • The students play the role of active learners who help in creating systems according to their needs and requirements.
  • They make suggestions regarding improvement in teaching-learning process, examination system,
  • Improve in infrastructural  facilities like library services, Internet,   canteen services etc.
  • The student members of Class Monitoring Committees offer their observations / views for enhancing teaching – learning process and conduct of various co-curricular / extra-curricular activities in the institute
  • Alumni are very active and productive in analyzing the requirements of external environment and attributes of the other colleagues and communicating the remedial measures to be taken up at institution level.
  • Alumni are sensitizing the students by sharing their views in several interactive sessions with students and staff. Etc, every year.

Integrated Framework For Quality Assurance Of The Academic And Administrative Activities

Academic System

  • IQAC is the main academic body to monitor and control all the academic related activities, including the preparation of academic calendar.
  • It is also responsible for faculty training in the usage of teaching tools in multimedia and the evaluation of student feedback, peer evaluation and effective counseling.

Administrative System

 By forming various administrative related Committees with defined duties and responsibilities of various activities. The student representation in college committees will strengthen the administrative system. Internal and external audit system for college accounts along with the computerization of all office functions.

Professional Society Activities

Head of the Department must ensure of a minimum of 20% of the students should enroll themselves as members of international professional societies.

CSE / IT / ECE/ EEE – IEEE student chapter For CSE / IT minimum of 50% of the student should be made to be the members of CSI chapter. Mech minimum of 50% of student should enroll themselves as members of ISTE / IIIE. ECE/ EEE minimum of 50% of students should enroll themselves as members of IETE. There should be a minimum of 50% membership in local Chapters and a minimum of 10% in international chapters.

 Maintain record of student memberships with membership card as proof.

Nature of activities

The professional societies are to conduct student programs to include training, specialized subject orientation, guest lectures, sponsored programmes of local / state / national level activities in collaboration with the central agency. The activities should be conducted on regular basis and proceedings should be recorded.


Departmental Associations: All the students of the department should become members of this association. Student members from other departments can also be co-opted in this association. The body will decide the membership fees to be collected. And executive committee will be elected by the students. A Professor in-charge will be a compulsory member for the executive body. Students of second, third and fourth year are eligible to be members of this association. Various activities like seminars, group discussions, quizzes, technical symposiums etc should be conducted once in every fortnight for two hours from 3:10 to 5:00 PM regularly. Professor in-charge will be responsible for recording of all these events / activities.

Impact: Students are expected to improve professional, organizational, technical skills and knowledge.

News Letter: The College news letter must be sent to all Alumni using web and their comments are recorded. Each department should obtain information of students in a proper format. It is HOD’s responsibility to issue two news letters from his desk to all students, alumni, Industry departments and dignitaries.

College Academic Committee (CAC)

The College Academic Committee (CAC) meets at least once every year and reviews the syllabus. They can suggest modification to the contents of the syllabus to the university. They review the teaching and learning process followed in each department. All the academic matters pertaining to implementation are reviewed periodically, like review of results, conduct of online examinations, review of attendance requirements etc., Industry expert opinion in modernising the syllabus are to be given due weightage in formulating the syllabus. The recommendations of College Academic Committee (CAC) can be forwarded to the Affiliating university.

Department Academic Committee

Department Academic Committee for each department have to be formed with experts from industry to give their expertise and suggest improvements in the department. The DC consists of HOD, two senior faculty of the department and minimum of two experts from industry as members. The DC shall discuss the latest developments in the concerned discipline and also arrive at feasible changes in curriculum which will enrich the knowledge of staff and students. Recommendations of the Department Committee will be translated as a full plan to include financial requirement by the CAC. Minutes of all the meetings must be recorded and filed. Additional budgets needed as per the suggestions of the experts is to be submitted and approvals obtained for execution.

DAC after deliberations will submit its recommendation on the following aspects.

  • Yearly examination of all the laboratories and suggest new experiments in emerging areas.
  • Additional equipment required i.e. relevant with the scope to increase employability of our students and improve their skills
  • In case of obsolete experiment DAC will record its recommendations for removal of the obsolete experiment / equipment.
  • Syllabus: DAC will also deliberate on the syllabus content of each course and record its recommendations in tersm fo addition / deletion in topic / topics.
  • The DAC will also deliberate on the general / departmental facilities and record its recommendations.
  • Feedback received from various employers of the Alumni is also to be translated by DAC for implementation if required.
  • Action: The HOD, after deliberations in department Academic Committee should write to the board of studies of JNTU recommending for inclusion / deletion of the experiment in the laboratory course.
  • Syllabus: The HOD should write to the board of studies recommending for inclusion of the additional topics suggested by the DAC, in the syllabus and in the meantime he should give it to the concerned faculty for teaching in various courses as additional topics to be covered to the extent of 20% of syllabus

Frequency: Department Academic Committee meetings are to be conducted twice in a year.

Department Academic Committee

Head of the Department, All Professors, All Associate Professors, Lab – Incharges Department Academic Committee (DAC) is responsible for proposing the departmental budget to the administration. Receive the applications received from teacher under faculty development programme and forward the same to higher authority with its own recommendations. Formulate all proposals to be submitted for R&D funding. Decides about short term / long term training programs to be conducted by department. Meets at least twice in each semester. HOD can summon the DAC at any time for review and finalization of department schemes

Department Academic Committee shall

  • Examine yearly all the laboratories and suggest new experiments in emerging areas.
  • Additional equipment required i.e. relevant with the scope to increase employability of our students and increase their skills
  • To make suggestions for the removal of obsolete experiment / equipment.
  • In case of obsolete experiment DAC will record its recommendations for removal of the obsolete experiment / equipment.
  • DAC will also deliberate on the syllabus content of each course and record its recommendations in terms of addition / deletion of topic(s).
  • The DAC will also deliberate on the general / departmental facilities and record its recommendations.
  • The DAC will also recommend the thrust areas for projects.
  • General reviews and comments on the projects.

Action: Department Academic Committee should take up all or one of the following.

  • Improving the laboratory facilities and introduction of new experiments.
  •  HOD should get quotations of the equipment recommended and then put up for necessary approvals and after getting the approval recommend for inclusion in the departmental object. The HOD should write to the combined Board of studies for inclusion / deletion of the experiment in the laboratory course.
  •  Syllabus: The HOD should write to the board of studies for inclusion of the additional topics suggested by the BS in the syllabus and in the meanwhile he should give it to the concerned faculty for teaching in various courses as additional topics to the extent of 20% of syllabus.
  • Special labs which are not there in university syllabus are also to be established as per the recommendations of the DAC and students are to do experiments whenever possible.

Research Development Committee (RDC)

Principal, Director, R & D, Heads of the Departments. One staff member nominated by each department as R & D coordinator.

The committee will meet twice in each semester.

To consider the proposals submitted by academic department for R & D project funding. To guide the departments in submitting R & D proposals for agencies like AICTE, DST, UGC etc., To Review the progress of R & D projects if any
