The Orientation and Induction Programme for First year B.Tech students (freshers) was held on 24th September, 2013. It was held in two sessions – morning and afternoon. The programme started at 10.30 a.m. The venue was ‘Ground Floor Seminar Hall’.
Anxious parents and students were eagerly waiting for the programme to commence. Kaleidoscope of all events held at VJIT was shown to the parents and students to make them aware of what goes on at VJIT before the commencement of the programme.
Dr. P. Rajeshwar Reddy, Correspondent, Dr. A. Padmaja, Principal, Sri. R. Venkata Chalam, Senior Administrative Officer, Prof. Zafarullah, Head of the Department, EEE spoke on the occasion. All Heads of the Departments were introduced to the audience to enable them to know their respective HODs.
Prof. Zafarullah, HOD, EEE told the parents that they had taken the right decision to join their children at VJIT and assured them that management and faculty members of VJIT would try to take maximum care to ensure that the student focuses on education and doesn’t drift towards the negative elements.
Dr. A. Padmaja, Principal, welcomed the fresher’s and spoke about utilizing this four year period at VJIT for becoming resourceful engineers who would be helpful to the nation.
Dr. P. Rajeshwar Reddy, Correspondent spoke about the importance of value-oriented education and urged the parents to inculcate discipline, values, good habits in their children in addition to providing best learning environment.
Sri. Venkata Chalam, Senior Administrative Officer asked the students and the parents to relax and stop worrying as VJIT is a ragging free zone and every measure is taken to ensure that the new students are comfortable and safe.
Queries from parents were attended to at the end of the programme. Details of bus facility and book bank facility were displayed and told to the parents.
Lunch followed.
The afternoon session started around 1.30 in the afternoon. It was a good opportunity for parents and students to get acquainted with the People and the Place.
