The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology, organized an Internal Hackathon as part of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024 initiative. The event began with the sharing of a Google Form and brochure on 16th August 2024 to invite registrations, garnering interest from 185 teams.

The hackathon was held on 5th and 6th September 2024, with 160 students participating and presenting over 140 problem statements addressing real-world challenges across various domains.

  • Dr. Swarna (SIH SPOC) provided a detailed briefing on the hackathon’s structure and expectations.
  • Dr. Arunakumar, Convenor and Head of the CSE Department, highlighted the importance of hackathons in fostering innovation and creativity among students.
  • Dr. Saibaba Reddy, Principal, and Dr. Padmaja, Dean, emphasized the role of such events in personal and professional growth, encouraging students to utilize this platform to its fullest potential.

The event was a resounding success, showcasing the ingenuity and technical expertise of students while preparing them for the national-level Smart India Hackathon.
