The Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology organized a Seminar on Grass-root level Innovations & Entrepreneurial opportunities by Brig. P Ganesham, Founder of Palle Srujana& Honeybee network for the students of SPEED & EPICS on 22nd August 2014.
Brig Ganesham stressed that the academic institutions should pay closer attention to the creative potential of our society and try to add value to the grass root innovations to enable commercial or social diffusion. There are many problems, which have remained unsolved despite all the gains in science and technology.
Brig Ganesham has explained about the grass root level innovations that can be carried out in rural villages.He showed videos and explained about many examples of innovations that were carried out by villagers, which got patents and were even appreciated and awarded by President of India.
He inspired and encouraged the students to concentrate on problems that are faced by the rural villages and asked them to find a simple Engineering solution.
He has invited interested students to participate in ShodhYatras to. Reach out to different villages through social connectivity and find the problems at the grass root level.
He motivated students to file for patents for their innovations.He explained about how to become an entrepreneur with the gross root level innovations. The seminar stressed an important point that Innovations can and do happen in the nearest of the villages around you! You just need to see.
Management feels that these kinds of lectures will benefit the students and is planning to introduce Engineering projects in community service in the curriculum.
