The Webinar was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, VJIT in association with ICI Student Chapter, Telangana on 10th August 2020. The Session was initiated with the welcoming address by Dr Pallavi Badry, Head of the Department, Civil Engineering enlightening on the importance of Advancements in Concrete Technology and welcomed the Key Note Speakers. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr A. Padmaja, Principal – VJIT.
The Webinar had over 800 Students, Research Scholars and Faculty members eagerly participating in the Seminar from various parts of the world.
The first Session was given by Dr Yunus Ballim, Professor, Construction Materials School of Civil & Environmental Engineering University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg on “Developments in understanding Heatflow and Temperature Development in Large Concrete Elements”. Next elaborated on the heat evaluation from hydrating cement and effects of fineness and supplementary contentious materials and ways to determine temperature development in a concrete elements and development of the temperature prediction model. Another crucial part of the webinar is throwing light on the improvements and techniques used in understanding the concrete followed by query session.
The noon session was presented by Dr Shen-En Chen Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA . He delivered the lecture on ‘Self Sensing and Magnetic Concrete for Power Transfer Focusing on theRrelation between Strain , Resistance and Resistivity; The actual behaviour of the Self Sensing Concrete and Block Energy Storage of Concrete’. He further elaborated on Wireless Power Transfer in all the Civil Engineering segments, followed by the Query Session. Dr N. Sudharsan, Professor, Civil Engineering conveyed the vote of thanks.
