A Two day Faculty Development Programme on ‘Applications of Mathematics in Engineering Sciences’ was organized by The Faculty of Mathematics, Department of Humanities and Sciences, Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology on 4th and 5th September, 2012.
The workshop started on 4th Morning with the Inaugural Ceremony. Prof. M. V. S. Srinivas, Head of the Department, Mathematics, JNTUH was the Chief Guest of the Inaugural Ceremony. Prof. D. Rama Murthy, Prof. of Mathematics(Rtd.), Osmania University was the Guest of Honour. Prof. M. V. S. Srinivas, the Chief Guest delivered the Keynote Address.
On the first day, Prof. D. Rama Murthy spoke on ‘Concepts of Mathematical Modelling’. Prof. M. V.S. Srinivas, spoke on ‘Applications of Mathematics in Engineering Sciences’ in the afternoon session.
On day two, we had sessions by Prof. J. Anand Babu, Professor of Mathematics (Retd.), OU. He spoke on ‘Numerical Analysis’. Prof. V. Haragopal, Professor of Mathematics, Osmania Univesity delivered a lecture on ‘Curve Fitting and Interpolation for Engineering Applications Through Mat Lab’ in the afternoon session.
Valedictory Ceremony started at 3 in the afternoon on 5th September. Participation Certificates were distributed to all the participants in the Valedictory Ceremony.
More than 85 faculty members of different engineering colleges attended the FDP. The Head of the Department, Sri. Raja Mahendra Reddy and Convenor, Dr. Ramakrishna and his team expressed their happiness over the success of the programme.
