A Two Day National Level Workshop on “Cutting Edge Practices In Sustainable Infrastructure Development” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering on 28th and 29th February 2020. The Workshop was inaugurated by the Principal of VJIT Dr A. Padmaja, HOD of Civil Engineering Dr. Pallavi Badry and Prof. K. Ganesh Babu.
On 28th the 1st session was initiated with a Technical Talk on “Ultra High Performance Concrete” followed by a detailed explanation on Sustainable Green Cementitious Material Technology and Artificial Pozzolana Sand by Prof. K. Ganesh Babu. The Speaker was felicitated by Principal Dr A. Padmaja and Dr. Pallavi Badry, HoD CE. The 2nd session focused on the concepts and knowledge that should be involved at the time of designing the Highways and the importance of Transportation Engineering in the Civil by Prof. I. On 29th the session commenced with detailed explanations on ‘Landslides and Earthquakes and the Ways to Analyze the Earthquake by Seismographs’ by Asst. Prof. G. Sreenath who also showed Videos on how to build a house at places where earthquakes occur frequently. The 2nd session was handled by a technical talk on ‘Geospatial and the Significant Role in Civil Engineering’ by Dr M. V. Ravi Babu. He explained the asset mapping and the use of Google Earth Engineer.
