ICT Mode Short-Term Training Program on “Indian Electricity Rule & Code of Practices” on 26-11-2018 to 30-11-2018. Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering have organized the five days Short-Term Training Program (STTP) on Indian Electricity Rule & Code of Practices from 26-11-2018 to 30-11-2018. This program is arranged in association with National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Kolkata, established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. Dr. Prasanta Sarkar, Professor & HOD, EEE department, NITTTR, Kolkata and other experts delivered the lectures.
Dr. P. Venugopal Reddy, Director, VJIT and Dr. A. Padmaja, Principal, VJIT have inaugurated the function on 26-11-2018. Dr. S. Siva Prasad, Professor and Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering have delivered keynote speech.
The following topics are covered in this STTP
• Familiarize with Indian Electricity Act and National Electric Code
• Understand fundamental principles for electrical installation
• Design electrical installation
• Enforce safety in electrical work
• Safety equipment and their usage in electrical work
• First-aid for electrical shock
• Safety procedure for working with live wire and apparatus
• Indian Electricity Rules for the selection of electrical materials and safety materials
• Safety procedure for electrical measurements and control
• Necessities of earthing and procedure for earthing.
• Electrical Installation in Hazardous Areas
On the valediction day 30-11-2018, Dr. P. Venugopal Reddy, Director, VJIT given the speech about the STTP and motivate the department to spread this knowledge gained during this event to the student community.
Dr. A. Padmaja, Principal, VJIT have emphasized the need for safety rules.
Dr. S. Siva Prasad, Professor and HOD of EEE summarize the topics covered and effectiveness of the STTP. Dr. C.N. Ravi, professor, EEE and all other participants given their feedback about this program. Many of the participants are requested to organize few more short term training programs in the field of recent trends in “Power systems and Power Electronics & Drives” in the forth coming semesters.
