PHOENIX’14 – A NATIONAL LEVEL TECHNO CULTURAL FEST
Tech fest was conducted in Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology with great vigour and enthusiasm on 14th & 15th March 2014. Mr. Murthy Vadapally, Vice President of smart SPOC was the Chief Guest for the Inaugural function. A number of colleges from the vicinity participated in the fest. Competitions such as paper presentation, Poster presentation, software contest Debugging, Circuit Building up, etc., were conducted by each branch of Engineering. Cultural programmes such as music, dancing and other variety of competitions are being programmed during these two days.
Tech Fest started with prayer and lighting of lamp to signify the witness for our thought conviction and action. The convenor of the Tech fest Mr. M. Rajendra Prasad spoke on the occasion signifying the importance of tech fest and the events proposed. The dais was decorated by the eminent personalities such as the Chief Guest of the function Sri Vadapally Murthy garu, Secretary & Correspondent of VJIT Dr. P. Rejeshwar Reddy garu, Director Dr. P. Venugopal Reddy garu, Principal Dr. A. Padmaja garu and the Convenor of the Fest. The happiness of the audience i.e. students knew no bounds. Dr. Padmaja and Dr. Venugopal Reddy while addressing the audience explained the importance of the tech fest. The principal exhorted the students to select the interested branch at the foreset and work hard to achieve their goal. She also advised the students to take part in such Tech fest, get motivated and improve their skills. The director appreciated the activities taken up in the fest and said that this is an important occasion where in the students improve their talents. He described the different names with which these Tech fests are being conducted by various Colleges. He highly pointed out the shortage of electricity and scarcity of drinking water in vogue now a days. He advised the students to ponder over such issues which are needed most by a common man and come out with suitable solutions. He advised the students to look into utilization of solar energy most efficiently. He also exhorted to conserve usage of petroleum products.
Dr. Rajeshwar Reddy garu advised to students to concentrate on learning along with the enjoyment of the cultural activities and co-curricular activities. He said that he is proposing to start “Entrepreneurship Development Cell” along with the best and useful projects creation cell and name it as “Tech Shop” with the College funds. This is intended to improve the creativity among the students. The students can get benefit out of it.
The Chief Guest Mr. Murthy appreciated the students who are participating in the Tech fest. He insisted upon learning practical aspect of the education along with the bookish knowledge. He said that the students who study engineering will generally be very good at logical thinking.
The valedictory function was conducted on 15th of March 2014. D. Chakrapani, IAS (Rtd.) and Smt. Vanitha Datla, Executive Director ELICO were the gusts for the evening. There were about 200 papers presented for paper presentation and students from more than 40 different colleges from in around Hyderabad participated in various Technical, Non technical and Cultural events. Prizes were given to all the winners of both technical and cultural events.
