VJIT’s annual day is celebrated as “Phoneix” every year at the end of a series of competitions in literary, cultural and sports. Dr.Chukka Ramaiah, MLC, a leeding light, blessed Phoneix 2010-11 as the Chief Guest while Prof. D.N. reddy, Vice-Chancellor, JNTU(H) and noted music director and singer Vandemataram Srinivas were the guest of honour.

PHOENIX 2011 – Annual Day of Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology was celebrated on 7th April, 2011.

It was a day marked with festivity and jubilation.

Various Competitions were organized all through first week of April. Events were categorized into Sports, Literary and Cultural.

Under the sports category there was Cricket, Volley ball, Basket Ball, Badminton, Table Tennis, Throwball, Carroms and Chess.

In the Literary category the different events that were conducted were – Essay Writing, Elocution, Quiz and Poster Presentation.

In the Cultural Events category there was – Singing, Dancing, Fancy Dress, Mr. and Ms VJIT contests, Mehendi, Mimicry and Dramatics.

Many students enthusiastically participated actively in these events and won prizes.

The formal function of Annual Day started in the evening. Sri. Chukka Ramaiah (Educationist) was the Chief Guest. Dr. D. N. Reddy, Vice Chancellor, JNTU and Mr. Vandemataram Srinivas, Singer and Music Director were the Guests of Honour.

Members of the Management – Sri. A. P. Jithender Reddy, Chairman, VJES, Sri. V. Purushottam Reddy, Secretary, VJES, Sri. P. Rajeshwar Reddy, Correspondent VJIT, Mr. Narender Reddy, Member, VJES, were present on the occasion.

The guests first inaugurated the MODEL ROOM, of EEE Department and also the Solar Fencing and later on proceeded towards the dais.

The programme started with a Welcome Song and Welcome Dance (Classical Dance). Mrs. Lubna Ismail, Faculty of English welcomed one and all with the ‘Welcome Speech’.

Sri. Chukka Ramaiah , IIT Guru gave an Inspirational Speech. Dr. D. N. Reddy, Vice Chancellor, JNTU appreciated VJIT and motivated the students to work towards better performance. Sri. Vandemataram Srinivas entertained the audience with his thought provoking yet very popular numbers.

Sri. Venu Gopal Reddy, Principal, VJIT presented the College Report. Sri. A. P. Jithendar Reddy , President, VJES, Sri. V. Purushottam Reddy, Secretary, VJES in their motivating speeches urged the students to utilize the opportunities provided by the college to scale greater heights in their career.

Dr.P.Rajeshwar Reddy, Correspondent, VJIT focused on the changes they had brought in and emphasized the need for students to utilize the excellent infrastructure and faculty available in the college and set new records in campus placements.

Prize Distribution Ceremony followed the speeches. Prizes for Sports, Cultural and literary categories were distributed by the guests. Students who excelled in Academics were given Gold Medals and Monetary rewards.

This was followed by the Cultural Programme. Group Dances, Solo Dances, Songs, Mimicry, Fashion Show etc. entertained the audience. The programme culminated with the bursting of Fireworks by the students to celebrate success and to bring to a happy close to a happy event.

It was a memorable day for VJIT FAMILY.
