Phoenix 2012 – A Two Day National Level Techno-Cultural Fest was organized by Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology on 20th and 21st March, 2012.
Prof. R. K. Singh, Head, Department of ECE was the coordinator of this event. Mr. Dinesh, student of final year EEE was the student coordinator.
The publicity and promotion wing of this fest adopted a novel way of promoting the event by organizing a flash mob in two of the most happening malls of Hyderabad – GVK1 and City Centre. The Dance and Music attracted lot of attention. VJIT was a trend setter in this and in the later weeks we found that other colleges were following suit.
Dr. E. Sai Baba Reddy, Prof. of Civil Engineering and Director, Academic Audit Cell, JNTU was the Chief Guest of the Inaugural Session. Dr. P. Rajeshwar Reddy, Correspondent, VJIT, Dr. P. Venu Gopal Reddy, Principal, VJIT spoke on the occasion and reiterated the importance of participation in Paper Presentations and Poster Presentation and also other technical and non technical events to make ourselves all rounders and dynamic, confident individuals.
Phoenix 2012 had many technical, non technical events in addition to the regular Paper Presentations and Poster Presentations. Students from various Engineering Colleges participated in all these events. Response was heartening. The hustle bustle in the college with people moving around different stalls and music in the campus which was decorated with colourful flags and stalls gave the college a festive look.
Surprise element was the huge response for the cultural events esp. Music and Dance Competitions. The hall was packed. The dances and songs were awesome and the excitement was at its peak.
The valedictory ceremony took place on 21st March in the afternoon. U. Balaji , CEO, HMRI was the Chief Guest. Prizes were distributed to the enthusiastic prize winners amidst lot of cheer and fanfare.
The Techno Cultural Fest turned out to be a huge success and a trendsetter in all sorts.
