One Week Online Short Term Training Programme (STTP) On “SciLab: An Effective Open Source Tool for Computer Vision and Machine Learning” was organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology (VJIT) in association with AICTE from 14^th December 2020 to 19^th December 2020. The One Week Online STTP totally organized twelve sessions.

The main objective of the STTP is to help build an understanding of how to solve real world problems using Machine Vision and Computer Vision with examples. This STTP aimed at disbursing theoretical and practical training that enabled effective participation in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. This STTP motivated participants to learn fundamental concepts of machine learning giving an overview of machine learning algorithms and their applications. The STTP gave training in a series of lectures and practical exercises. The participants have obtained deep insights of machine learning, giving them a foundation for a deeper study in this area. The STTP has enabled the students and faculty of various colleges/institutes/universities across India to use Open Source Software tools for all their computational needs, thereby improving the quality of instruction, learning and to avoid expensive licenses of computational tools for research and education.
