One Week Faculty Development Programme on Art of Effective Teaching

A One-week Faculty Development Programme on ‘Art of Effective Teaching’ was organized from 3rd to 8th August 2020, by the Department of English that addressed the radical changes in the field of teaching, particularly during the challenging time of the pandemic. The FDP focussed on equipping the teaching fraternity with various strategies and web tools to bridge the gap between quality research and the teaching techniques that can disseminate knowledge to the young learners effectively.

The eminent Resource Persons were Dr Jacqueline Amaral, HoD (H&S), Vasavi College; Mr. B. Sasidhar, Head of Professional Development Unit, Prince Sattam Bin Abdul Aziz University (KSA); Dr  Ankitha  Khanna Asso. Professor, PP Savani University; Dr Madhusudan, Professor, University of Hyderabad;  Ms. Varanasi Satyavani, Associate Professor, University of Jeddah (KSA) and Prof K. Durga Bhavani, Dept of English, Osmania University. They have all shared their valuable expertise with the teachers of participating colleges and universities across the globe. The schedule focussed on the following key areas:

1.   Pedagogical Practices

2.   Effective Class Engagement with Web 2.0 Tools

3.   Assessment and Evaluation of Students’ Learning

4.   MOODLE Learning Management System

5.   Teaching & Learning Process

6.   Continuous Professional Development 

 This Indelible and Informative Session was a grand success with around 2000 registrations and above 4000 participants.
